The news I've been reading most about this week has been the talk surrounding the new Blade Runner movie and the possible options of who will be starring in it.
To start off we hear that Harrison Ford was in talks for the new Blade Runner movie, reprising his role from the original. According to Twitch Film, "Harrison Ford has entered into early talks to join the new Blade Runner." Ridley Scott has already signed on to direct and is keen to team up with Mr Ford again.
However, the following day those rumours were quickly quashed. The producer of the new movie denied Harrison Ford's return. On Total Film, Andrew Kosove, producer of the film, stated, "It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner." He then continues to say that they are still searching for a writer and casting is a long way off. So does that mean Harrison Ford isn't being considered or that they are just stalling at the moment?
A few days after this though, Ridley Scott himself came out of the shadows and confirmed when asked about Ford, 'No, absolutely not. I'm not sure that that's going to be a story point, so I don't know. But if it were nothing would please me more.' So what does all this mean? I am utterly confused by all of this.
Make of it what you will, but I think the best news is that Ridley Scott has also confirmed that he is considering Prometheus 2. I already can't wait for the first!!
