Two pieces of news caught my eye over the past week with one being a real sad story and the other being a potentially brilliant one.
Filmmaker and author Nora Ephron dies aged 71
One of the saddest pieces of news over the past year swept the movie world this week and that was of the news of Nora Ephron having passed away. She had been nominated for three Oscar's during her time behind the camera and had directed such films as You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. As well as being behind the camera Nora was also known for her writing abilities and wrote films like When Harry Met Sally. She had directed some very well known actors in her time such as Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell and she is a presence in the movie world will be sorely missed. I hope we all wish her family our deepest sympathies.
New full length trailer for Total Recall
I don't want to leave you on a sad note so I'm going to give you a link to the new Total Recall trailer that is to be released in August of this year. The trailer gives us much more footage to look at and wets our appetite for the movie that little bit more. I do think the movie looks good, and the trailer really helps that, but I am a bit worried that the original will be in too many people's minds and may cause this film to stutter. I hope not though as it does boast some incredible actors and a fantastic director. Check out the trailer below:
